Erin has a background in social work and non-profits. She was a home-based family support worker in Georgia for four years after which she  became an intern for a non-profit organization.  The organization had various locations within the United States as well as internationally.  Erin worked there for almost 12 years in various countries and cultures before becoming a stay at home mom.  She has two children who keep her quite active and were participants at The Family Place for several years.  Coming on staff at The Family Place has allowed her to become more involved in our wonderful community.

She loves sports, travel, reading and working to make a difference in people's lives.

Linda Chapman
Program Director

Linda has over 40 years experience working with families and children.  She is a native of Transylvania County.  She has worked in a preschool setting, determined eligibility for childcare subsidy, supervised a Child Care Resource and Referral agency and helped implement the beginning of Smart Start in Transylvania County when she worked for Transylvania County Child Development/DSS.  She was a Program Compliance Consultant for the State of North Carolina in her last full time job.  The path with her first non-profit job, The Family Place, began in February of 2009.

Her nickname could be "Duck Tape" or "The Hub" because she holds things together and keeps things rolling.

Nikki Parker

Nikki has been joyously married to Wes for 10 years and they have two boys who are teaching their parents a lot! They love the small community and outdoor activities of Brevard, and you can often find them in the forest somewhere on an adventure. She raised five children, two were her husband's children from a previous marriage, so she knows the challenges of a blended family. She now re-explores the area with her youngest grandson. Becca is originally from Ohio, and has lived in Brevard since 2003.  She started coming to The Family Place in 2006, when her son was just over 1 year old.  Being relatively new to the area she didn't know many other moms and was also new to being a full time stay at home mom, which was daunting!  She came to meet other parents and to provide socialization for her son. She was instantly hooked and made many long- lasting friendships.  Her son is now 12. She also has a daughter who is 9 and grew up with The Family Place.  She served on the Parent Advisory Committee and then on the Board of Directors where she was chair for several years.  She serves as a community/ school system representative as she is now a 4th grade teacher at Pisgah Forest Elementary School.  She is thrilled at how much The Family Place has grown over the years and grateful to still be involved after so many years.

Anna is a native of Transylvania County and a Brevard High School graduate.  She completed her degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University and worked in the Boone area for several years before returning to Brevard in 2007.  After beginning a family in 2009, she became invested in the lives of young children in Transylvania County and began work as preschool teacher for 4 & 5 year olds.  After serving in this capacity for 5 years, she has recently moved on to be the administrative director at a local camp.  She is excited to be a part of the Family Place and make a difference in her hometown.

Although life has led her out of the classroom she continues her love of education as an advocate for public schools and programs that empower not only our kids, but the families and communities as a whole through volunteering at Brevard Elementary OPT, Democracy Project-Transylvania, and The Family Place. You can catch Sara around town walking, riding, running, shopping the local thrift stores, hiking, yoga-ing, knitting, gardening, and most of all enjoying time with her family and friends including the many visitors she welcomes into her family’s tiny home because EVERYONE loves to visit our community - this beautiful, dynamic, diverse place on Earth!!
