Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy
The Family Place of Transylvania County is committed to a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. The Family Place shall not discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic, including: race, ethnicity, color, national origin, language, ancestry, religion, sex, familial status, age, gender identity, LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/ questioning, etc) status, marital status, domestic or sexual violence victim status, or sensory, mental, or physical disability. Each person has the right to work and live in a professional atmosphere that promotes equal employment opportunities and prohibits discriminatory practices, including sexual harassment.

The Family Place is an equal opportunity employer by law and by choice. In effect, The Family Place will consider each person as an individual – not as a member of any group – in its decisions to recruit, hire, promote, transfer, train, pay, or terminate its employment.
