Get Set Transylvania is a collaboration of more than 22 organizations in Transylvania County that serve children and families. Get Set is working to improve the lives of children and families through a collaborative effort. Get Set started with a stakeholder meeting hosted by county government in 2015 and formed the Early Childhood Initiative (ECI) releasing the State of the Young Child Report in late 2015 that provided a data-informed road map of the issues children and their families in Transylvania County faced. Get Set was chosen in 2018 to become the first rural community nationwide to partner with Sesame Workshop’s Sesame Street in Communities. In 2019, Get Set was recognized with a Best in Category Achievement Award for Children and Youth Programs from the National Association of Counties (NACo).
