Through initiatives like Connect, GetSet Transylvania, and our partnership with the Hunger Coalition, we work to promote emotional wellness, increase access to healthy food, and support the holistic development of children and families in Transylvania County. "Connect" is a community collaborative in which The Family Place serves as the fiscal agent and executive team. Our mission is to empower families and promote the well-being of the community's children. Connect coordinates services for families in crisis or at high risk for child maltreatment. We address fundamental needs and foster resilience to make a lasting positive impact on the lives of families within our community. Connect partners include: Dept. of Social Services, El Centro, Smart Start of Transylvania County, The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club, Transylvania Public Health, Transylvania County Schools, Brevard Academy, The Children's Center, and Transylvania County.
Get Set Transylvania
GetSet Transylvania is a collaborative effort that brings together local non-profit organizations, government departments, faith-based organizations, childcare providers, community members, and businesses. GetSet aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes the holistic development of young minds and ensures a foundation for lifelong well-being and success.
Family Dinner Series
The Family Dinner Series is a special opportunity for families to come together, share a meal, and engage in meaningful conversations in a warm and welcoming environment. These events are designed to strengthen family connections, provide valuable resources, and foster a sense of community.
