Director of Development

Be Part of a Place Where Families Find Support, Connection, and Belonging

The Family Place is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Director of Development to help grow and sustain a community hub where families are supported through every season of parenting and caregiving.

As a Family Resource Center, The Family Place is the place families turn to for parenting and caregiver support classes, peer connections, safe spaces for children to play, access to community resources, and support during times of crisis. From our distribution and resource closet to emergency assistance and early childhood-focused programming, everything we do centers on strengthening families and helping them thrive.

The Director of Development plays a critical role in making this work possible. This position leads fundraising efforts that fuel programs, deepen community partnerships, and ensure families across Transylvania County have access to welcoming spaces, meaningful support, and trusted resources. Working closely with the Executive Director, Board, staff, and community supporters, this role will help build strong systems, cultivate lasting relationships, and grow sustainable revenue for long-term impact.

At The Family Place, fundraising is about more than dollars raised—it’s about investing in families, supporting early childhood development, and creating spaces where caregivers and children can learn, play, and grow together.

If you’re inspired by relationship-building, community-centered work, and the opportunity to see the direct impact of your efforts on families’ lives, this role offers the chance to make a lasting difference—today and for generations to come.

Children’s Program Team Member

The Family Place is seeking part-time team members to support children ages 0–15 during programs at our Brevard and Rosman locations, as well as at partner sites throughout the community. These roles help create fun, safe, engaging spaces and activities for children while their parents/caregivers participate in Family Place activities. Afternoon, evening, and Saturday shifts are available.
