Children & Family Coordinator
Help create the kind of place where children can learn, play, and feel welcome—and where parents and caregivers can connect, be encouraged, and feel supported in the everyday work of caring for children.
The Family Place is seeking a part-time Children & Family Program Coordinator to plan and lead engaging experiences for children and families in Brevard, Rosman, and approved community locations. This position is a strong fit for someone who enjoys turning thoughtful ideas into well-prepared, age-appropriate activities and creating spaces where families feel included and supported.
In this role, you will lead assigned programs such as Playgroups, Open Play, and family-centered activities; prepare materials and program spaces; guide children’s team members during program delivery; and help families connect with child-development information and community resources. Programs may focus on children, parents/caregivers, or both; during Open Play, the Coordinator is present in the room to engage intentionally with parents and caregivers, support positive caregiver-child interaction, and participate with children as appropriate so caregivers can remain nearby while also having a chance to connect and take a brief breather.
We are looking for a dependable, collaborative professional with experience planning and facilitating both children’s activities and parent/caregiver-child programming, along with strong communication and organizational skills and knowledge of child development and family dynamics. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
This is a part-time, hourly position working approximately 30 hours per week. Our pay scale is between $15.00-$18.00 an hour. The schedule requires flexibility for regular or occasional evening and weekend programs. The role also involves travel among program sites, indoor and outdoor work, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
