The Family Place Learning Garden brings families together to learn about the science of growing food in the hopes of giving people the agency and confidence to grow their own food and nourish their families. In the garden, we work on maintenance, pruning, organic pest control, reflecting and troubleshooting. As food becomes ripe, we will harvest, prepare and enjoy foods from the garden. Tuesdays in the Summer are Garden lesson days, where staff and volunteers lead a story, activity, journal reflection, and cooking lesson. Working in the garden is open to all families in the community at any time. A clipboard of current garden tasks and needs is hanging in the playroom.
