Oct 2018 Newsletter

This month Brevard Playgroup will be talking about how plants and animals prepare for Winter. Fall changes are in the air. Brevard and Rosman Playgroups will celebrate the season with a trip to Holmes Educational Forest, at 10:30 am. After the Ranger’s program, we will walk the The Talking Trees Trail to learn more about the trees that are found in our forest. The second half of October will be all about pumpkins as we prepare for a very special Halloweenfest this year.


  • Family Dinners Series in October 2018. Two locations, two topics:

    • Tuesday Oct. 9, 5:30 pm at Rosman Elementary “Community Crock: Taste and Learn New Recipes”

    • Monday Oct 22, 5:30 pm at Transylvania County Library, “Juggling Act: Balancing Work, Family & Self-Care”

  • Community Playgroups! A traveling van packed with fun, educational and creative learning kits designed for parents & kids to play-learn-grow! •Check out the Sesame Street in Communities.org link and get excited. Halloweenfest is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 27th, 10 am - 5 pm.

The Family Place will be closed on Friday, Oct. 26th for a Sesame Street Workshop.
