Circle Of Parents Groups
The following programs are part of
Circle Of Parents
All Circle Of Parents programs are evidence informed.
Dads In Action
Dads In Action is a program specifically for dads and their children. We meet together once a month to: connect with other dads in the community, spend quality time with our kids, give mom a break, and have fun! Some of our activities are: bowling, play time at the Family Place, live animal shows, climbing at the Rock Gym, open gym time at the Recreation Center, and swimming. Please contact us here if you would like to know more.
Wes Parker is the Dads In Action program facilitator.
Join us either Monday or Wednesday from 10 am - 12 pm weekly for a safe and nurturing community where parents share their challenges and successes. You will meet new friends, learn of resources as well as expand your skills and confidence as a parent. The group is parent-led so we discuss topics or invite speakers the parents are interested in. We are all on this journey together and need each other! All are welcome and childcare is provided.
Foster Parent Chat
A group designed specifically for foster parents or kinship placements in mind. Come and find respite and space to refuel at our meetings the last Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30 pm (with chit/chat time until 8 pm if desired). Childcare and snacks are provided. This group is parent-led so we discuss topics or invite speakers the caregivers are interested in. You will also receive a certificate to be applied toward on-going training if applicable.
Haven Family Chat
A group meets at the Haven Family house each week facilitated by The Family Place. Haven residents from the single and family house are invited to attend as well as former residents. The parent-led group offers one another support and encouragement as well as space to learn and share new skills.
Bi-lingual Parent Chat
Our Bilingual Chat is offered twice a month, on the second and fourth Friday of the month. If weather is bad or a special event/holiday happens on any of those dates it will be moved to the first and third Friday of the month.
We have "Language Partners" which are families that meet and help each other brush up on their language skills, both English and Spanish. We have some families that are bilingual and can assist with both English speakers and Spanish speakers, this is a great resource for all!
The chat is informal and geared toward any subject the group wants to discuss, but always involving both languages.
Los invito a todos a participar, gracias!
